The Goozex Exchange

The Goozex Exchange (beta) is a new service from Goozex that allows members to spend their points and order new games from Goozex. Now you can trade your old games, earn points, and then put your points to good use and buy new games!

The service is in "beta" right now, meaning that we are still testing some of the features. While in this state, Goozex offers a limited selection of titles, and runs it for limited time on a monthly basis. We anticipate that the service will be extended to cover a larger selection of titles, and that is will be available on a more continuous basis in the future. The idea is to offer a venue where you can spend your hard-earned points for new games, in an easy and fast process.

The Goozex Exchange is available here: Goozex Exchange

or from any game page that is enabled for the service with the button: .

Terms and conditions

At the moment the service is provided on a limited basis. Goozex announces a new "Exchange" every month in the Goozex forum, in the monthly newsletter and/or on Twitter (www.twitter.com/goozex). Goozex reserves the right to suspend the service at any time, and does not guarantee that the service will be available in the future, or that the same products will be available in the future.

All orders are processed through Amazon.com. The products ordered are shipped by Amazon at the address the user has on file with Goozex at the time of purchase. User takes full responsibility in ensuring the address on file with Goozex is correct and current. Should the package be returned to Goozex for "invalid, unknown, or wrong address", Goozex reserves the right to charge the user account with the amount of points spent by user to purchase the product, plus shipping and handling fees.

New orders on the Exchange are processed by Goozex within 3 business days. The products are shipped by Amazon.com using standard mail. It may take up to 10 -15 business days for a new order to be delivered. Goozex makes best effort in offering products that are readily available on Amazon.com. However, Goozex cannot guarantee Amazon's delivery times, and Goozex has no control on Amazon's supply: the product may be sold-out or have a waiting list at the time of purchase on the Goozex Exchange. In case the product cannot be shipped by Amazon within 30 days from purchase or is no longer available for sale on Amazon.com, Goozex will refund the user with the amount of Goozex points spent and will cancel the order.

Under no circumstances (including special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for a missing, lost, unavailable, sold-out, or wrong order) shall Goozex be liable to the user  for an amount greater than the Goozex points spent by user on that order or $60. Whereas the product offers a warranty of any kind (for defects or other reasons), said warranty is offered by the original manufacturer or by the Goozex supplier through which the order is fulfilled. Under no circumstances shall Goozex be liable for any warranty claims or services on products sold through the Exchange.

Only select titles are supported in the Exchange. Supply is limited, and the Exchange may be terminated at any time without notice. Goozex may choose to limit the supply for each individual title, or for all titles at once, to a maximum number of orders.

Some eligibility criteria apply: user account must be in good standing, with a valid address on file with Goozex, with a positive transaction history, and with a feedback score higher than a minimum threshold. Each user may be limited to a maximum number of orders every month, and may be limited to order a maximum number of copies of each product. These restrictions are changed from time to time: you may check current restrictions in the FAQ page.

By participating to the program or requesting a product on the Exchange, you explicitly understand and accept these terms and conditions.

I would have jumped on this last month and this month if the pricing was a bit cheaper, 1200 - 1300 for standard editions and 1800 for LE/CE.

What do you mean cheaper? 1000 points is the $50 equivalent. Why would they sell brand new games for $10 off? That doesn't make sense. The pricing is normal.

I agree with Duddy07. When you figure it costs around  50 bucks for 1000  points. 1600 points is 80 bucks and 2000 is 100 bucks. I think Duddy07's pricing would make me far more interested.

Thanks for the idea though Goozex, I love how you are always looking to improve!

I like the idea, too. However, I also agree that 2000 pts is just too steep for me. I could see maybe going up to 1500-1600 for a game that I REALLY want, but 2000 is too much.

Yeah, that's the trick of the points system.  They can sell a $60 game for $80 by disguising it as 1600 points.  They should sell the games for 1200-1300 points.  $60 to $65 for shipping included.

I'm fine with the pricing, and given how quickly the items sold out, so too are many other Goozex members.

Heck, I've got 7000 points just sitting in my account and haven't been able to redeem more than a few hundred in the last three months.

I can't see paying $80 for a game that I can just go to my local store and buy for $60 plus tax.  I understand that they are covering shipping, too, but still...  1600 points for RE5 is a bit too steep.

Would they offer these kinds of points for new games that we trade in?

It is nice to see that Goozex is offering more ways for us to get games, but I'm with Duddy07 on what the point values should be.

Did these already go up for sale?? OR does it start the weekend of the 16th.

So hey, if you guys add Star Ocean to the March 16th week sale, you'll have a guaranteed sale from me.  I really have no intereste in Street Fighter or Halo Wars and I already have Resident Evil's collector's edition preordered, but damn would I love me some Star Ocean.

You guys got it right, 1200-1300 would be the sweet spot for regular new games.

If you're telling me that my points received from shipping out the Bioshock LE, the Halo 3 Legendary Edition, and my bonus one hundred after a positive feedback can't buy me one of these crappy new games.... why the hell did I spend 38 dollars of my own money on shipping to trade them?

Lower the prices please.

$38 on shipping is ridiculous.  I spend around $2.00 - $2.30 per game.

Because I was shipping Limited Editions, like the BioShock edition with the Big Daddy figurine and the H3 boxed helmet set. They need big boxes and postage according to weight.

I like this idea of the Goozex Exchange. Last time I didn't jump on it since I didn't have a system to play any of the games (except for a PC of course, but it's not really for gaming). This time I'll probably still pass on it since there's not really a game I want that badly. Although it'd be nice if it went to the 1300-1500 point range at least (with the LE/CE editions higher), right now they really can't do too many orders since they're just testing out the waters. It'll be nice if this is implemented fully with a larger selection of games. Until then, or at least until a game that I just must have, I'll pass on the opportunity, though I'm sure many others will jump on it.

I don't know why you guys are so cheap, most new games sell for $59-$69 plus taxes, so if Goozex is offering the game for $80 worth of points, shipping included, that is a fair price.  Then you can turn around once you finish the game, and get 1000 points for it.
