Goozex automatic postage labels

Hey everyone!

How does this sound to you?

* You don't have to go to the Post Office on your next trade.

* You don't have to worry about getting USPS delivery confirmation tracking on your next trade.

* You can simplify your next trade in three easy, quick steps on your next trade: Print, Apply, Ship!

Goozex is happy to introduce our latest service feature: automatic shipping labels!  It's our answer to the ageless question - "how can I avoid the Post Office?"  The Goozex automatic shipping labels not only let you avoid the Post Office, but they give you that piece of mind with tracking info.  Shipping games on Goozex is now super convenient and can be done in three easy steps:

Print, Apply, Ship!

Here's how it works:

After you agree to ship a game you will be asked if you'd like print a shipping label for the package.  Once you click on that button you will be given the pre-determined Goozex shipping cost. Goozex at the moment has weight information for about 3,000 games, and we continually add on top of that.

Next, choose your payment method: Credit Card (via Bank of America's Cyber Source or PayPal).  After making the payment you can then print your new postage label, apply it to your mailer and simply drop it off in any mailbox! The printed postage label is 4 by 6 inches, fitting the most common mailers.

You are even given the flexibility to add your own shipping weight to the game and use that for the shipping process.

How we calculate the cost?

The cost of shipping packages via USPS is determined on the overall package weight, distance from buyer to seller, and type of postage (first class vs. priority).  Goozex is working with third party vendors to provide this service and there is a small service fee to help cover Goozex expenses to deliver shipping labels to you.  We believe that you will find the Goozex automatic shipping labels to be a great convenience, saving you time and money.  No longer do you have to drive to the Post Office and wait in long lines to ship that game out.

Follow the discussion on the new shipping service on the Goozex Announcement forum thread.

Happy Trading!

Oh, this is AWESOME! And by the looks of it, there's delivery confirmation as well?! NICE!

Tracking the package while paying for shipping immediately and without the post office?! Freakin' WIN!

Fantastic, I was wondering when you would get a feature like this up.

will it be connected to paypal?

I think Canda (or International mail in general) is a no go. Last time I asked the post office, they told me I had to bring everything that has a customs sticker in.

Pricing is way high.  It normally costs me ~~2.80 to send a game FCM with confirmation.  I just took a look at printing using your service, your label was $3.40.  That's a pretty significant difference.

Costs me $5 at my local post office!

USPS has had the same thing on their site in the past for a few years, including DC and depending on the method of shipping you pick - FREE!  So you only paid the real postage costs for shipping.  So while this looks slick, doing it the old fashioned way looks the same and more than likely cheaper.

Not to mention before the USPS gets rid if it, there's still shipping at Media Mail pricing for full-case games!  You can do it with a sleeved version, but not recommended.

So maybe a 6 of 10 on the scale?

.60 is not a significant difference..   unless you live next door to the post office..  It would take me at least .30 in gas each way... and the effort to go there... the horrible icky effort!

Nice job! This will help me quite a bit. One small suggestion.. let us buy the mailers from you. You guys can print out some cool looking goozex labels mailers and sell them in 10 packs. I know I'd purchase them

Do I need to print this on special "peel-able" label paper, or can I print on regular paper and tape to my package? I couldn't find this answered anywhere.

Most post offices have self-service kiosks now that never have anyone using them. Just a bunch of sheep in line for the counter. Takes me about a minute to send my games out.

PayPal's multiorder shipping is a piece of cake to use.  I'll compare shipping cost on my next shipment, if the cost is higher I'm staying with PayPal.

ya does it work in Canada?

Last time I checked, you could do this with PayPal or via the USPS website.  Most games weight 5 oz or less which is $2.03 shipped 1st Class with DC.  If you're a bit weary, go with a 1lb Media Mail sticker for $2.34 with DC and you'll be set.  You can just leave the package in your mailbox and voila, the mail man will take it!!!

The day I pay $1.00 extra so I know the exact weight is the day I start buying all my video games brand new.

This is great I can't wait to use it!

Does anyone know if we have to worry about the thickness of the mailer still?  Do I still need to throw a crumpled up piece of newspaper or bubble wrap in the mailer to increase the thickness?

(Post office regulations say that a first class mailer must be at least 3/4's of an inch think to have delivery confirmation)

The last two games I sent out, I just used the PayPal shipping link that showed on the trade page.  I do have a postage scale that we used in our business so I am able to figure up exact weight so that's handy.

I put the full case into a bubble envelope, weigh it on the scale, print out the label for first class with delivery confirmation onto normal paper, cut out the label, tape it on, stick it in the mailbox, done.  I will continue to use this method because it works for me.

I can see the new Goozex automatic postage labels working for people without scales that are worried about estimating the games postage and don't want to take it into the post office.

I'll stick with the post office, I live next door to it anyway, and it's cheaper, too.

Just used the service for the first time, and I'm VERY impressed.  The ease of use more than justifies a few extra cents for me.  Avoiding the post office is good enough reason for most folks.  For me, avoiding a post office that leaves much to be desired in terms of self-service (and accurate scales) is an even better reason to use this.

Good stuff, Goozex!
